Peace Queen visits Nobel Peace Institute
Miss Melannie is in the house. She arrived in Oslo yesterday and today met with the Director of the Nobel Peace Institute, Olav Njolstad. She described to the Director the work she has been doing for racial reconciliation in the South Sound.
Njolstad told Melannie that people like her, working at the grassroots to build peace, are extremely important. “Peace is built from the bottom up,” he added.
He showed Melannie the room where the decision is made each year to chose the Peace Laureate. (no cameras were allowed). He also showed her the room where the announcement is made.
